Memories from the past resurface. The sands of time are shifting, merging, things seem muddled. Sometimes we remember things differently to others and this can cause conflict. Accepting that others have a different perspective doesn’t negate your experience. What it means to you is what matters.
Write down every positive experience so that good memories don’t slip through the net. Maybe there are things we don’t want to remember, bad times, sad times. Whilst it’s healthy for these memories to fade, sometimes it’s useful to reflect gently on the past, if only to shed a quiet tear and hold your heart and say, ‘it’s okay, we got through that’. Be kind to your past self, whatever the story, even if mistakes were made. Return to the present. In this moment, new memories are created. Think, what can you do today which will make your heart sing in the future? Today’s actions, decisions and experiences are tomorrow’s souvenirs.
