Sometimes fears rise up out of nowhere, stopping you in your tracks as you wonder what’s going on in the dark recesses of your mind. Maybe you find yourself imagining the worst, wanting to run, to hide, to flee – to be anywhere but here. Perhaps challenges and problems just seem too difficult to think about and you find yourself drifting off into fantasy, needing an escape route.
Trying to escape may prove more perilous than facing the issue. It’s possible that you’re envisioning a worst case scenario. Guard against catastrophising. Your ‘monsters’ may be fear of falling or failing in disguise. Even if the reality is difficult to deal with, nothing is impossible. Use your imagination to work for you not against you. Choose to visualise a better outcome.
