Love is tears welling up over a stranger’s story; birdsong in a quiet forest. Love is prayer. Love is also getting up and going to work so that you can pay your bills to keep a roof over your head. Love is looking after yourself when you’re sick or asking for help. Love is saying no when you already have too many responsibilities. Love is knowing what is precious and what needs tending above all else. Love is the alchemical magic that turns lead to gold.
