Memories – they can be sweet, they can be sorrowful. Part of you may feel like you’re standing on guard, fending off the pull of the past. But still, the thoughts come, like an undertow tugging at stern resolve. Maybe you’re tempted to push away what you feel, fearful that you’ll be swept away. The more you shut down, the more you are at the mercy of the tide.
Even if many years have passed and much water has passed under the bridge, some experiences remain vivid and alive in the mind. Remember, there has been both good and bad and every shade in-between. Don’t build a wall between you and your history. Be loyal to your younger self. Let the memories come. Let your heart ache just a little for all that was lost and all that was won. Each experience is a precious jewel in your crown.
